Newcastle United are reportedly set to tie down Sean Longstaff to a new and improved contract at the club.
The midfielder, according to a report from Chronicle Live, is willing to commit his future to the cause at St James’ Park as he continues to be regarded as the club’s most promising young talent.
Longstaff, 20, has earned plenty of plaudits for his displays at youth level for Newcastle and interest from elsewhere has surfaced, as per the report.

However, it seems Newcastle are on the verge of reaching a complete agreement with the midfielder over a long-term extension, with his current contract due to expire at the end of the ongoing season.
Longstaff has recently been monitored by Scottish Premiership giants Celtic, as the Hoops considered a swoop for the promising young midfielder.
Despite this, though, it seems the Magpies will be retaining the services of their talented academy graduate, with a new contract on the table.
