Newcastle United defender Achraf Lazaar has been linked with a January move to Genoa.
The Moroccan left-back appeared to have been on the verge of a switch to the Serie A side towards the end of the summer transfer window. However, the deal fell through, leaving Lazaar with little chance of featuring for Newcastle this term.
Nevertheless, it seems Genoa’s interest in completing a deal for the former Benevento loanee remains firm.

Italian news outlet Il Secolo XIX report that a January swoop for Lazaar could be on the cards, with Genoa out to add to their left-sided options.
Lazaar appears to be little more than a third-choice option for Rafa Benitez at St James’ Park, with Paul Dummett the preferred left-back and Javi Manquillo the deputy in this position.
A January departure for Lazaar appears to be more likely than not and another spell in Italy could present itself, should Genoa make another move for the player when the window re-opens.
