Newcastle have appointed Neil Redfearn to work with the reserves, report the Chronicle.
The former Leeds boss has most recently worked in women’s football, taking charge of Doncaster Rovers Belles and Liverpool Women.

Having various spells with Leeds as a caretaker and ultimately full-time coach, Redfearn was canned by Massimo Cellino in the early days of the Italian’s reign at Elland Road.
A mammoth playing career spanned 26 years, and saw the Yorkshire-native make 851 appearances across numerous teams.
His flagship team being Barnsley, the midfielder made 292 appearances in eight years at the club.
Redfearn will join U23 boss Ben Dawson and club legend Steve Harper.
Spotted in the dugout during the side’s 5-2 win against Fulham.
Academy coach Kevin Richardson will also reportedly work closely with reserve players, and has been in and around the team in recent weeks.
