Newcastle United defender Florian Lejeune has revealed that his recovery from a knee injury is going as planned and he will be returning back to Newcastle soon, according to a report on the Shields Gazette.
The defender suffered cruciate ligament damage in his knee during pre-season and was expected to miss the entire 2018-19 season.

However, the Frenchman has given a positive report back regarding his recovery and is hoping to feature at some point this season.
The 27-year-old has been recovering ever since his operation in August and is hoping to be back in training early in the new year.
He said on Instagram:
Hello everyone, my recovery is on schedule. It will take a little more patience before I come back onto the field but I am working very hard to get as quickly and strong as possible. Thank you for all your messages.
The defender is set to complete his first stage of recovery in Rome and could be back in Newcastle as soon as this month.
Manager Rafa Benitez is also optimistic that Lejeune can keep recovering well. He said:
He will come back maybe in one week. He’s doing his rehab in Rome using special facilities.
