Newcastle are continuing to negotiate with Lyon for the transfer of Myziane Maolida, according to Get French Football News.
The 19-year-old forward impressed in his first season of senior football in Ligue 1, scoring three goals in 22 total appearances.
A regular member of France’s age-group international sides, Maolida has received 19 caps for the U19 squad, scoring nine goals.

Expected to appear in Lyon’s friendly with Chelsea on Tuesday, Maolida was unexpectedly withdrawn from the squad.
The forward would join other Newcastle additions Salomon Rondon and Yoshinori Muto, as manager Rafael Benitez seeks to diversify his attacking options for the 2018-19 season.
Frustrations seem to have gripped Newcastle’s off-season, with owner Mike Ashley seemingly unwilling to give Benitez the sufficient money to add to a squad that the Spaniard hauled to a tenth-placed finish.
