Newcastle United are reportedly close to signing West Bromwich Albion striker Salomon Rondon on a season-long loan deal.
Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie has tweeted that the deal could be finalised as early as tomorrow after the player underwent a medical earlier today.

The 28-year-old was absent as the Baggies began life in the Championship with a 2-1 loss against Bolton Wanderers yesterday.
It looks likely that Toon striker Dwight Gayle will head in the other direction as part of the deal.

Rondon has been at the Hawthorns since 2015, having moved from Zenit Saint Petersburg for a then club record fee of £12m.
The Venezuelan scored seven goals and provided three assists in the league last season, where he often played alongside Jay Rodriguez in attack.
In comparison, Gayle struck six times and provided the same number of assists, making 35 appearances to Rondon’s 36.
Earlier this week, Japanese international forward Yoshinori Muto joined the Magpies from Mainz in a deal worth £9.5m following the departure of Aleksandar Mitrovic to Fulham.
Rondon will face competition from Muto, Ayoze Perez and Kenedy for a place in Rafael Benitez’s starting XI to face Tottenham Hotspur next weekend.
