Newcastle United goalkeeper Matz Sels is set to complete a move to Ligue 1 side Strasbourg, Sky Sports reports.
The goalkeeper is currently in France completing his move to Strasbourg for a fee believed to be around £3.5million and confirmation of the deal could be announced later today.
Strasbourg have only just been promoted to the top flight in France and the Belgian international is likely to be the club’s first choice keeper.
Having fallen down the pecking order at St James’ Park, Sels spent last season on loan at Belgian side Anderlecht.
Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez bought the 26-year-old from Belgian side Gent for £6million back in 2016 but Sels is now surplus to requirements at St James’ Park.
Sels was on the standby list to go to this summer’s World Cup with Belgium, with his nation earning a historic third place at the tournament.
