Milan Badelj has set his sights on a move to AC Milan this summer amid reports linking him with a move to Newcastle United, according to Calciomercato.
The Croatian international is a free agent this summer following the expiration of his deal at Fiorentina at the end of the season and a number of top-flight clubs have been linked with a move for the player.
Badelj was a member of Croatia’s 23-man squad at this summer’s World Cup, as they fell short to France at the final hurdle of the illustrious competition.

Due to his availability and the potential to recruit Badelj for no transfer fee, it seems Newcastle had expressed an interest in recruiting the player this summer.
However, if Calciomercato are to be believed, Badelj intends to remain in Serie A for the time being, with Milan emerging as his preferred destination for the season ahead.
Although, if Gennaro Gattuso’s side are to snap up the experienced midfielder, they will need to convince him to snub a number of clubs. Like Newcastle, it’s believed that the likes of Lyon and Lille have also shown interest in the player.
