Newcastle midfielder Jack Colback is nearing closer to the Tyneside club’s exit door, with a move to Nottingham Forest close to completion.
The 28-year old midfielder joined Forest on loan last January, then accused Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez of not respecting him and only viewing him as ‘a number’.
Subsequently, the midfielder who only has one year left on his current deal, has been told he has no future with the club, and has been left at home while the rest of the first-team squad are at a training camp in Ireland.
Now, having been told to look for a new club, Forest boss Aitor Karanka is keen on reuniting with the former Sunderland utility player.

However, according to the Northern Echo, the financial side of the deal is proving to be more difficult than expected, with Colback’s current wage with the Magpies far higher than Forest’s wage ceiling.
Despite this, Karanka is hopeful of coming to an agreement within a week, and is set for another round of talks with Colback’s representatives before the weekend.
In an interview with the Nottingham Post, Karanka had this to say on a potential deal for Colback:
I know Jack, and Jack knows me and the club. He was really important here last season. It is true that he is on our list.
We have other players on the list because he is not our player and we cannot say that he is yet. We have to find a solution to that as soon as possible. But if it is not Jack, then we will find another target.
Colback would be the second midfielder to leave the club this month, after Mikel Merino completed a switch to Real Sociedad on Thursday afternoon.
