Newcastle player set for move to Porto
Newcastle United player Chancel Mbemba is reportedly in Porto to finalise a deal to the Primeira Liga club, according to Sport Witness.
Sport Witness are claiming that some Portugal media outlets are saying the Newcastle player is in the country ahead of his proposed move to the Portuguese champions.
Mais Futebol claims that the player arrived in Porto last night and that the defender is ready to sign a contract which will run until 2022.
Mbemba had reportedly already been in the country two weeks ago to hold talks with Porto, during which time he agreed to a four-year pre-contract.
Mbemba had been the subject of strong interest from several other clubs but it appears that Porto have now won the race for his signature.
Talks between Porto, Newcastle and the player are said to have rapidly progressed in the past few days, with a deal set to be finalised by the end of the week.
