Premier League side Newcastle United have been dealt a huge blow in their pursuit of RB Salzburg midfielder Valon Berisha as Lazio have agreed on a €7m deal to sign him, according to a report from Calciomercato.
The Magpies were linked with a move for the midfielder, who was contemplating a switch to the Premier League.
However, it seems Lazio have won the battle for his signature ahead of Newcastle and Sampdoria with a €7m bid.

The 25-year-old looked set to join the Serie A side before the negotiations stalled and Lazio were quick to take advantage of the situation.
The Kosovo international, who represented Norway until 2016, was on the radar of Rafa Benitez, who is hoping to strengthen all areas of his squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
He certainly would have added creativity and drive in the Newcastle midfield but Benitez must now look at other targets.
