Newcastle are interested in re-signing Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend this summer, according to London News Online.

The 26-year old winger joined the Eagles in 2016 from the Magpies, having only signed for the Tyneside club six months prior from Tottenham, costing the London outfit his £13million release clause.

Prior to that, Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez had helped Townsend settle at St James’ Park, but the Spaniard was powerless to stop the England international leaving once their relegation to the Championship was sealed.

Townsend scored twice in 36 Premier League appearances last season, having also struck up a rather successful partnership with fellow Eagles winger Wilfried Zaha.
