Newcastle join Leicester City and Roma in registering an interest in Torino wing-back Lorenzo De Silvestri.
The Magpies are looking to spend significantly this summer with Rafa Benitez demanding the promise of funds, and the Italy international defender has fallen onto the Spaniard’s radar, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
The Italian outlet claim that while Torino boss Walter Mazzarri is keen to keep De Silvestri, his successful campaign has drawn attention from a number of clubs.
The 29-year old scored five goals and assisted four last season to help the Turin based club to a top half finish.
Leicester City have already signed a right-sided defender in Ricardo Pereira this summer, which would surely put Newcastle in prime position, unless De Silvestri isn’t keen to leave his native Italy.
