Newcastle’s Achraf Lazaar is hoping to prove that he is good enough to succeed at the club after struggling out on loan in Italy last season, according to Chronicle Live.
He was not afforded regular game time in Serie A as his team, Benevento, suffered relegation.
Pre-season is set to be vital for Lazaar as he looks to impress and hopes to get back in Newcastle’s plans after being frozen out last season.

The player is keen to go for another opportunity and Rafa Benitez may be keen for him to come back to the club and be given a fresh start.
Paul Dummett filled in Lazaar’s left-back role last season, doing very well in the process, and the two look set to battle together for the role.
The player’s agent has opened up on his future after a year away from the club and remains keen for him to remain with the Toon.
Lazaar has a contract until 2021 with Newcastle, he wants to return to play for Benitez and he intends to refuse all the other destinations. Achraf wants to play his cards in the Premier League, his future therefore will be in England.
