Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez is believed to have asked owner Mike Ashley to back him this summer to help the club push on towards qualifiying for European football.
Newcastle’s first season back in the top flight has been a successful one. They sit 10th currently and have played some excellent football against the better sides.
Wins at home against both Manchester United and Arsenal have been the highlights, but Benitez wants to make sure that the Magpies can comfortably finish in the top half next season and o do that, he will want to add to his squad.
Since safety has been certain, his side’s form has dropped off. Games against Everton, West Brom and Watford have seen three losses in a row, which shows that the club are still lacking signs of being a strong Premier League outfit.
We’ve decided to look at some players they could sign from the relegated clubs that will help them improve.
As we know only West Brom and Stoke City have been relegated so far,s we’ve gone with the presumption that Swansea, who occupy the final relegation spot at present, will join them in the Championship
