Islam Slimani’s difficult loan spell at Newcastle United is set for another turn, with the Algerian now suspended for the final three games of the season.
Slimani, who only made four appearances for Newcastle after joining the club on loan in January, has been a costly investment for Rafa Benitez’s side. The club paid Leicester City £2 million to take the striker on loan, with Slimani failing to net in any of his games for Newcastle.

The Striker’s spell in the North East is set to come to an end after the striker kicked out at West Brom defender Craig Dawson in Newcastle’s surprise defeat to the Premier League’s bottom side last week.
In a statement today, the FA said:
He accepted the charge but argued the suspension was excessive. This was rejected by an Independent Regulatory Commission.
The forward was involved in an off-the-ball incident during Saturday’s game against West Bromwich Albion [28/04/18].
