Newcastle United are to send an official to Turkey to watch transfer target Garry Rodrigues this weekend, according to Takvim.
Rodrigues has been consistently linked with Newcastle in recent months and now the club are set to send a scout out to watch the Galatasaray star against Besiktas in this weekend’s Istanbul Derby.
The Turkish media outlet are reporting that Newcastle had a club official watch him in Galatasaray’s win over Basaksehir at the weekend and that they are to watch the midfielder again this weekend as they step up their interest in the player.

Schalke, West Ham and Everton are all also said to be showing interest in Rodrigues, with Newcastle likely to table a bid for the Cape Verde international this summer.
Newcastle made bids for Rodrigues in both of the previous two transfer windows but both were rejected.
The Magpies reportedly table a bid of €6million euros last summer before increasing the fee to €8million in January.
