Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez has said that it is nice to be linked with the Arsenal job, but, contract talks have opened over a new deal at St James Park according to the Metro.
The Toon are all but safe in the Premier League having won their last four Premier League games following their promotion from the Championship last season and are targeting a top ten finish.
Just three more points would be enough to keep the experienced Spanish manager’s side in the division mathematically after a run of fine results.

Newcastle claimed a much-needed win at Arsenal at the weekend which led to Arsenal supporters wanting them to replace Wenger with Benitez at the end of the season.
The Newcastle fans would be very reluctant to see him leave after doing a great job at the club guiding them past the 40 point mark
Benitez spoke about the situation in a recent interview:
The fact that you get linked, it is something positive because it makes you proud of your career trajectory.
People in England are conscious of the fact that experience in the Premier League is important and, what is more, you go to other competitions and other leagues and win as well.
