Newcastle United are lining up a summer move for Nice forward Alassane Plea, according to reports.
The 25-year-old joined Nice from Lyon back in 2014, and has gone on to score 41 goals in 130 games for the French club.
Newcastle are clearly in the market for a striker this summer as scoring goals has been a big issue for Rafa Benitez’s side, so targeting a player who scores at a ratio of close to one goal every three games certainly makes sense.

The asking price for the forward is said to be £15m, which seems reasonable but we’ve seen in the recent past that funds aren’t always readily available for Benitez to bring in players.
Burnley and Everton are also interested in the former France U21 star, but Newcastle would likely have a good chance of getting him if they do decide to make a move.
