Jamaal Lascelles in reportedly on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur, with Toby Alderweireld looking likely to leave North London.
The Telegraph report that Lascelles is just one of a number of players being looked at by Spurs as they attempt to replace the Belgian. Mauricio Pochettino is also taking a look at West Brom’s Jonny Evans.
Lascelles has been a key player for Newcastle since signing from Nottingham Forest. The centre back’s career has been revitalised by Rafa Benitez, and has been touted for an England call up.
Newcastle don’t want to sell the defender, putting a £30 million valuation on the former Forest defender. Chelsea have also taken an interest in Lascelles, being impressed by his performances this season and his leadership skills.
Newcastle will have to work hard to keep Lascelles this Summer, with a move to one of England’s top clubs being a big draw for the defender.
