Newcastle United are looking to sign Gent star Moses Simon before the start of the World Cup, according to Own Goal Nigeria.
His current club are happy to work on a deal as long as it gets completed at a sensible price for all concerned.
Rafa Benitez sent representatives to watch the player play for his Nigeria in the recent international break against Serbia.

Simon has also changed agents in the past few months and a strong World Cup from the player would help to increase his value, with the Magpies keen on working out a deal before hand.
Newcastle are keen to avoid a bidding war with anyone and will instead want to get a deal finalised soon after the current season is done and they have kept their status in the Premier League.
He has just over a year left to run on his current deal and Gent are happy for the player to move on come the end of the season.
