Newcastle United are sweating on the fitness of winger Matt Ritchie after he was sent home early from international duty.
As reported by Scott Wilson of The Northern Echo, Scotland have not disclosed the reason behind Ritchie’s withdrawal from the squad that has travelled to face Hungary in a friendly game.
Ritchie played for his country as they lost 1-0 to Costa Rica on Friday evening but he won’t play of Tuesday evening, having suffered some type of injury.

Newcastle will be hoping that the 28-year-old’s issue isn’t a major one as he’s been one of the club’s best players this season and losing him for a significant period of time will seriously impact the chances of the Magpies staying in the Premier League.
Newcastle face Huddersfield at home this weekend in a game that, if they win, could see them move up to 12th place in the league on 35 points.
