Martin Dubravka dedicates first win to Newcastle faithful

According to Chronicle Live, Martin Dubravka has dedicated his debut win for Newcastle against Manchester United to the Magpies faithful.

The keeper joined Newcastle on loan from Sparta Prague in January as Newcastle wanted a consistent No. 1 and impressed on his debut performance against the might of Manchester United, where his side won 1-0.

Dubravka kept a clean sheet in the process and it looks like Newcastle have found a gem of a goalie.

There was plenty of efforts to deal with for Dubravka, keeping out the world-class attacking force of Manchester United, as his side were put under immense pressure during the 90 minutes.

The new man had this to say about his debut:

I feel amazing, we won and that is the most important thing. But also it was my first game and my debut so I am very happy that we won.

The 29-year-old added:

The coach told me what the line-up was going to be and I tried to stay calm and focus on the game. Knowing I was playing was an amazing feeling.

To know you will play in a competitive game with a big club was great. We have to realise this is a big club and we have to fight for things.

Dubravka’s praise for the fans came when he spoke about the celebrations after the final whistle.

It was the most amazing feeling. You can feel the atmosphere around the stadium from the people. If you give them passion they will give you everything. I am so happy to give them a win.
