Newcastle United could look raise funds by selling their first-team players this month, as Fulham prepare to come in with a new bid for striker Dwight Gayle according to the Northern Echo.
United face league leaders Manchester City on Saturday evening with first-team boss Rafa Benitez hoping that he will have some money to spend to help keep their side in the division.
Owner Mike Ashley is appearing very stubborn in this situation ahead of the proposed takeover talks and is not budging over a lack of funds.

Fulham are set to make a fresh approach for the Newcastle forward Gayle after they tried to sign the player during the summer.
Benitez has been a long-time admirer of Fulham’s star man Tom Cairney which could prove to be a swap deal with Gayle which both sides would be happy with during this month.
A number of other players are wanted by other clubs but the North East club are reluctant to sell unless the price is correct particularity in the case of Gayle.
