Premier League club Newcastle United have been informed that it will be very difficult for them to sign Juventus midfielder Stefano Sturaro in the January transfer window as the Italian Serie A club don’t want to let him go half-way through the season, according to a report on Sport Witness.
The Magpies have been keeping tabs on the central midfielder and manager Rafa Benitez is reportedly keen on signing him in January.

However, the player’s agent claims that it will be difficult to convince Juventus to sell him at that stage of the season.
Benitez wants to strengthen his squad in January to give his side the best possible chance of staying in the Premier League.
They also face competition from Everton, who are monitoring the situation of Sturaro.
Sturaro’s chances of establishing himself in Juve’s starting side are slim due to the competition he faces in Turin. Sami Khedira, Miralem Pjanic, Blaise Matuidi and Claudio Marchisio are vying for a central midfield position.
This means that Benitez could use the assurance of first-team football on a weekly basis as a bargaining chip to lure the player to England.
The 24-year-old’s current contract with Juventus expires in 2021 and Spanish La Liga side Valencia are also interested in signing him.
