Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez is considering a move for Galatasaray attacker Garry Rodrigues as the manager intends to strengthen his offence in the January transfer window, according to a report on Teamtalk.
The 27-year-old has fallen out of favour at the Turkish club and is open to making a move away to secure first-team football, which is something that Benitez could use to lure him to St James’ Park.

The Cape Verde international is a traditional left-winger and uses his pace and power to run directly at opposing defenders, something which Newcastle have lacked so far this campaign.
Rodrigues signed for Galatasaray in January 2017 and is under contract at the club until the summer of 2021.
The Magpies made a fast start to the Premier League season but have fallen down the table rapidly.
Benitez’ men are currently 12th in the table but are only five points away from the relegation zone.
They have only managed to find the back of the net 13 times so far this term and that is a worrying sign for Benitez, who believes that Rodrigues could make them a more dangerous side in attack.
The transfer could potentially be a loan on for the remainder of the season but Benitez is still deciding whether to make the move or not.
