Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has called for fans and players to remain calm as fears emerge over the clubs direction after the 3-0 defeat to Watford at St James’ Park on Saturday, according to a report on the Telegraph.
The Spaniard went straight down the tunnel following the loss and is under pressure as his side continue to slide down the Premier League table towards the dreaded relegation positions.

Benitez had fears before the season as to whether he had a squad capable of handling the demands of the English top-flight but after an impressive start, it seemed he had nothing to worry about.
However, the matches are coming thick and fast for the Toon, who have lost four matches in a row.
Benitez said:
I think the fans have been really good all season, but maybe, after this, a lot of them will realise it’s not a question of players or what system we play, it is about sticking together because we will have more problems.
We have a team of young players and they are working hard. It will be tough, but I still think we are in a good position.
Newcastle have slipped to 14th position in the table and are only four points away from the relegation zone. Benitez’s side face manager-less West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday night.
