Steve Cook’s late winner saw Newcastle United suffer defeat at the hands of Bournemouth.
In what was a scrappy 90 minutes, Newcastle looked to have the better of the chances. However, the points would go to Bournemouth, who defended well with Asmir Begovic making some great saves.
The Bosnian was able to deny former Bournemouth winger Matt Ritchie who had an effort from distance, whilst also denying Christian Atsu and Dwight Gayle.
Bournemouth had chances late on, with Marc Pugh hitting the post before Steve Cook gave the Cherries a late lead.
Newcastle’s struggles continue, with the Magpies only taking five points from an available 18, suffering their second successive 1-0 defeat in a row.
Bournemouth, however, move outside the bottom three of the Premier League and into sixteenth place. Newcastle move down into the bottom half in eleventh place.
