Newcastle are reportedly plotting a bid for Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun in January, but could be forced to cough up a sum of £20 million.
According to a report from Turkish news outlet Aksam, the Magpies are the club to beat in the hunt for Tosun, but will still need to raise their offer if they are to land the prolific attacker.
Tosun has been in good form for Besiktas so far this season, and is being targeted by a number of clubs across the Premier League. It’s been previously claimed that Tottenham and Everton are interested in him, while Crystal Palace made a move in the summer.

Reports suggested that Newcastle are preparing a club-record bid worth £18 million for Tosun when the transfer window re-opens, but they may need to raise this if they are to lure him away from Besiktas.
Besiktas president Fikret Orman wants big money from the sale of his star striker, but will be more keen to keep hold of the player.
