Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has played down speculation of him moving to fellow Premier League side West Ham United and claims that he is “focused” on his current club, according to a report on Football London.
The Spaniard has been speculated to be the next West Ham manager after Slaven Bilic has made a poor start to the new Premier League season with the Hammers.
But Benitez was quick to make it clear that he is fully determined to succeed at Newcastle for the time being.

“At the moment I am only focused on the games and improving the team we have,” said Benitez.
The Magpies are reportedly keen to get Benitez to sign a new long-term contract after the newly promoted side made a great start to the season.
Benitez has also revealed that he is going to have “conversations” about how to help Newcastle finish as high as possible in the top tier of English football.
“We will have conversations about what we want to do but, at the moment, we have some time until January to be sure what we want to do in terms of football is done,” revealed Benitez.
“Then it depends on us trying to achieve what we want to achieve in every training session and every game.”
The Magpies host Benitez’ former club Liverpool at St James’ Park on Sunday.
