Jamaal Lascelles scored his second winning goal in two games as Newcastle earned all three points by defeating Stoke City 2-1 at St James’ Park.
The home side took the lead in the 19th minute when Christian Atsu converted a Matt Ritchie’s great cross at the back post.
Stoke levelled the game just before the hour mark when Xherdan Shaqiri curled home a long-range effort, but ten minutes later, Newcastle’s captain stuck the winning blow.
