According to the Express, who cite Sky Sports, Newcastle want to bring in Lucas Perez as a replacement for Dwight Gayle, who is edging closer to a move to Fulham.
Fulham submitted a bid worth £15 million for Gayle earlier this week but Newcastle did not accept as they are looking for a replacement and Perez could be their man.
Perez, who joined Arsenal last season, is looking for a move away from the Emirates after a tough debut season at the club, where he made 21 appearances, scoring seven and assisting five.
New summer signing, Alexandre Lacazette, has taken Perez’s number nine shirt, which sparked even more rumours of the Spaniard heading out of the club.

Everton and Deportivo de La Coruna are also interested in Perez, with Arsene Wenger preferring to sell Perez to his former side, Deportivo, instead of loaning him to Everton, who are Arsenal’s top six and Europa League rivals for this season.
