According to the Chronicle Live, Newcastle have rejected two loan bids from Italy for Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Since scoring his first goal of the season in his sides 3-2 loss at home to Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup, clubs have become interested in the Serbian’s services for this season.
Hellas Verona and Cagliari have both made loan bids for Mitrovic but both of them have both been rejected as Rafa Benitez wants there to be a certain replacement for the Serbian before he lets him go for this season.
With Siem De Jong looking likely to leave the club this summer, The Magpies will only have Dwight Gayle, Joselu and Ayoze Perez as their striker options if Mitrovic is to leave with no replacement coming in.
Only permanent cash offers or loan offers with an option to buy will be accepted by the club and Benitez said last week that he’d only accept a “very good offer” for Mitrovic.
