According to the Mirror, Newcastle are plotting a loan move for West Ham striker Andy Carroll.
Carroll left Newcastle for Liverpool over six years ago, but he has regularly been linked with a return to his boyhood club – a club where he scored 31 goals in 80 appearances.
The Hammers signed Javier Hernandez from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, for a deal reported to be around £16 million which has dented Carroll’s hope of first-team football at the London Stadium.

As a result, Slaven Bilic is willing to listen to offers for the big hitman, who is currently on £130,000 per week.
Rafa Benitez has just signed Joselu from Stoke City for £5 million, and the Spaniard now joins Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dwight Gayle as Newcastle’s striking options. Therefore, Benitez may eventually decide that he has no need for another forward.
Due to his injury issues over the years, re-signing the big Geordie would divide opinion among the Newcastle faithful, but many would welcome him back with open arms, as they never wanted him to be sold in the first place.
