Newcastle United have expressed an interest in signing Hull City midfielder Sam Clucas, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The 26-year-old was one of few bright stars in the Hull team were relegated last seasons and now he is wanted by his former club Leicester, West Brom and Burnley as well as the Magpies.
For Newcastle, Sam Clucas is just one of many names on a long shortlist for this summer. It’s clear that the Magpies will need to bring in new players to attempt to stay up in their first season back in the Premier League.
With the midfielder’s experience in the Premier League, he could be exactly what Newcastle are looking for. It is thought any deal would have to involve a fee of around £10m to bring him to St James’ Park for the man who has risen all the way from the non-league.
Hull’s Player of the Season was apparently looked at by England manager Gareth Southgate and with a possible move back to the Premier League, Clucas might be fighting for an England place if he performs as well as he did last season.
