Out of favour Tim Krul could be used as a part in the deal to sign Montpellier’s Ryan Boudebouz, according to The Northern Echo.
Long-term target Boudebouz had yet another good season for Montpellier, bagging 11 goals, as well as 10 assists. A massive improvement in front of goal has seen the Algerian hit top form and a believed asking price would be around £13million, which in today’s market could be a steal.
So far, Montpellier coach Michel der Zakarian says there has been no bids for the Algerian.
Both Newcastle and Krul know that the Dutchman is destined to leave the club and a deal to bring in a Boudebouz using him as part seems to make sense.
Thus far in the transfer window, Newcastle have struggled to get any targets across the line, however if they were to sign the 27-year-old, that would certainly be a statement of intent from the Magpies.
The Premier League new boys will be desperate to bring in some players in order to fight of relegation in Rafa Benitez’s second spell in the top-flight with Newcastle.
