It’s abundantly clear that Rafa Benitez is looking to sign at least one new centre-back this summer with Newcastle being linked with moves for numerous defenders, the latest of whom is Inter Milan’s Jeison Murillo.
According to Gazzette dello Sport, the 24-year-old is on Newcastle’s list of targets and he could be available for somewhere between £10million-£12million.
The Colombian international found himself out of the starting line-up as last season came to an end and as such, there is a feeling that the Serie A giants could cash in on him to raise funds to spend during the summer.
Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Monaco are also being linked with moves for the defender but Newcastle will hope that they can lure him to St James’ Park with the gaunt of regular football in the Premier League.
However, with Champions League football on offer from elsewhere, it might be hard to convince him to move to the North East.
