Newcastle’s promotion chances took another wobble after a 3-1 defeat to Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
Ipswich took the lead when, after a mix-up between DeAndre Yedlin and Matt Ritchie, Tom Lawrence played the ball to Freddie Sears, whose deflected strike beat Karl Darlow.
Daryl Murphy levelled for a below-par Newcastle just after the hour mark but David McGoldrick put the home side back in front just seven minutes later before Emyr Huws sealed the win in injury time.
