Four fresh faces could arrive by the weekend

Four fresh faces could be unveiled by Newcastle before the end of the week, reports The Chronicle.

Matz Sels completed his £5.5million switch from KAA Gent to Newcastle this morning, snubbing interest from West Ham, Southampton, Everton and Middlesbrough. The Belgian stopper put pen-to-paper on a five-year deal and became the first signing of the Rafa Benitez era.

Dwight Gayle could be the next through the door as Newcastle have reached an agreement with Crystal Palace for the player. Gayle is currently traveling to Tyneside now, where he will complete a medical examination and sign a long-term deal.

The Chronicle believe Matt Ritchie of AFC Bournemouth could also be unveiled within the next 48 hours. Newcastle are said to be confident of securing a deal, amid interest from West Ham, and Ritchie is understood to be up for the move.

The fourth and final arrival of the week is an unnamed centre-half, with many on Twitter expecting it to be Blackburn Rovers defender Grant Hanley.
