Newcastle ranked sixth best value for money in Prem

Newcastle United have been ranked the joint sixth best value for money in the Premier League, even though they were relegated to the Championship.

The survey takes into account the club’s cheapest season ticket and the amount of goals scored at their home fixtures and calculates the value for money that fans paid throughout the season.

The Magpies finished in sixth, just one place above bitter rivals Sunderland, while Manchester City finished top of the pile. After their incredible season, Leicester City sat in second while Arsenal were adjudged to be the worst value for money.

This will come as a shock to most Geordies due to the club’s torrid time last season, with only three teams conceding more goals – Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Norwich.

The club will now look to improve upon that next season as season ticket prices drop and with the confirmation of Rafa Benitez, whose appointment has prevented a potential backlash from the fans following relegation to the Championship.

Newcastle will be hoping to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking and with Champions League winning manager Benitez at the helm, the fans will be quietly confident.
