It was a season in which Newcastle flirted with relegation once to often, and the topsy turvy way in which the heirarchy went about the teams affairs led to them falling through the Premier League trap door.
Give them credit though, the Magpies went out fighting. Inspired by the work Rafael Benitez implemented on them, they pushed for as long as they could, and ended the season in a glimmer of style with a 5-1 demolition of a self-destructing Tottenham.
