Five former Newcastle players who were on form this weekend

Newcastle United’s transfer policy has finally shown them up – selling their best players for a high fee may bring in profits, but on the pitch is where it all matters.

This particular weekend saw every player featured (below) gain a result for their new club, whilst their old side crumbled to an eighth successive defeat to send them closer to the Premier League trap door.

This weekend’s football saw five former Mags on form: one man and his side qualified for Champions League football; another won a national cup with a thunderbolt; two of the inclusions scored hat-tricks and the last dominated the midfield in a close game to keep his side at the peak of the table.

All five of these players are in a position to have an extremely successful season with their respective clubs.

Have Newcastle let quality players leave for nominal fees?
