Tottenham Hotspur have slapped a staggering £14million price-tag on the head of England international Andros Townsend, according to Daniel Lewis of The Mirror.
Lewis states that Daniel Levy, Tottenham’s chairman, has no interest in allowing Townsend to leave the club on loan, having already rejected an ‘informal’ approach made by Watford. Instead, he is only interested in offloading the 24-year-old permanently, in order to help fund moves for their January targets.
Townsend has fallen down the pecking order at White Hart Lane this season and currently finds himself playing under-21 football to keep up his fitness. Despite his lack of playing time, a number of Premier League clubs, including West Brom, Newcastle and Aston Villa, are interested in striking a deal for the winger in January.

With his Euro 2016 hopes in the balance, Townsend is reportedly frustrated by Levy’s £14million valuation – a price tag which could deter potential suitors from following up their initial interest (especially Newcastle).
