Newcastle will have a battle on their hands if they are to sign Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly in January, with the defender’s agent claiming he wants to stay in Naples.
Napoli will decline any offers for Koulibaly from the Magpies, according to Sky Sports in Italy.
It is believed that the 24-year-old has an £8m buy-out clause in his current contract, and United are considering triggering that clause next month.

However, Koulibaly’s agent, Bruno Satin, has insisted that his client wants to stay at Napoli.
Since Koulibaly joined Napoli from KRC Genk over a year ago, the Magpies have been linked with him numerous times.

Quoted by Tuttonapoli, Satin said:
Napoli has always been the first choice of [Kalidou].
“He wants to stay to reach great levels in Naples, and wanted… to earn [a starting role].”
“He is doing well in the field, and he is happy and motivated.”
This time around, it looks like Newcastle will have to pull out all the stops to sign the Senegal international.
