Newcastle have found themselves in the midst of an injury crisis, with four players injured or doubtful for the Sheffield Wednesday clash in midweek.
Papiss Cisse will miss the match with a back injury he sustained while attempting an overhead kick against West Ham that forced his substitution.

Massadio Haidara and Jack Colback will also miss out after suffering minor injuries in the 2-1 defeat to Watford.
Steven Taylor will be sidelined for a longer period of time, after having surgery on his hamstring. Boss Steve McClaren said it was a necessary course of action to have the minor surgery and expects him to be out for ‘a couple of months’.

These four join Cheick Tiote, Karl Darlow, Paul Dummett, Curtis Good, Emmanuel Rivière and Sylvain Marveaux on the injury list for Newcastle, requiring a real test of squad depth for the Magpies.
Newcastle’s next league clash is against champions Chelsea.
