Taylan Antalyali targeted by Newcastle

Newcastle are the latest club to show an interest in signing continental prospect Taylan Antalyali, according to Italian media outlet TuttoMercato.

The youthful 20-year-old, who currently plays for top tier Turkish side Genclerbirligi, is also being linked with a move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain, as well as Italian outfit Sampdoria.

Antalyali’s signature would be subject to a bid of just over £1million by Steve McClaren, as he looks to undergo a complete overhaul of his Newcastle squad ahead of the 2015/16 campaign.

The Turkish midfielder was signed by Genclerbirligi from Bursaspor last summer, but has struggled for game time with just eight appearances in all competitions within the previous twelve months.

Now, he will be looking for an opportunity to resurrect his footballing career as clubs across Europe queue up with him.

Despite no caps for the Turkish senior national team, Antalyali has featured at youth level from the U15s, all the way to the Turkish U21 setup.
