# Netherlands U21 Boss Hails ‘Rare’ Sean Steur After Newcastle Breakthrough

Sean Steur has earned glowing praise from Netherlands Under-21 boss Michael Reiziger after continuing his rapid development at Newcastle United.

The 18-year-old made his U21 international debut during Friday’s goalless draw with Norway, adding another milestone just months after leaving Ajax for St James’ Park.

Reiziger has now highlighted the qualities which make the Newcastle midfielder stand out.

Speaking to Voetbal International, via [NUFC Blog](https://nufcblog.co.uk/sean-steur-is-a-rare-talent-netherlands-u21-boss-michael-reiziger-41979), Reiziger said: “Sean is the kind of player you don’t see very often.”

The Dutch coach also praised Steur’s ability to read matches, remain composed in possession and take responsibility despite his age.
