# Anis Hadj Moussa to Newcastle United transfer saga takes twist

There are many players who have been linked with [Newcastle United](https://readnewcastle.com/2026/08/12/club-owner-angry-after-newcastle-united-transfer-collapse/) in recent weeks, although a lot of the rumours have headed nowhere. When it comes to Anis Hadj Moussa, the situation seemed a bit different.

There had been suggestions that positive talks had been held. Not only that, it was also claimed that Newcastle United were readying a £35 million offer for the Algerian winger.

It was not much away from the £37 million transfer fee that his club, Feyenoord, are believed to want to part ways with Moussa. That had raised hopes that common ground could be found and a transfer deal could be agreed.

But as it turns out, the situation might not be nearly as advanced as some outlets had suggested. According to [Maghreb-foot](https://maghreb-foot.com/fr/exclusif-lagent-de-lalgerien-anis-hadj-moussa-dement-toute-offre-de-newcastle-united/), a source very close to Moussa claimed that the information relayed by the media during this summer transfer window is nothing but rumours and speculation regarding the interest in the winger.

The report further goes on to state that the player’s agent, Mohamed Dahmane, has not received any official offers from Newcastle United or any other club recently, contrary to what has been reported.

It is noteworthy that most outlets had never claimed that an offer had been officially made by Newcastle United, just that one was being prepared by the Magpies.

So, in that sense, there is still hope that a move could end up happening. But after everything we have seen unfold this summer, to be frank, it is hard to be positive about the Magpies’ dealings in the transfer market.

Of course, things can change very quickly in the transfer market. Newcastle United could end up signing a couple of quality players and lift the mood. But for now, the supporters will be disappointed with what they have seen. That is just the reality of the situation.
