# ‘Serious Possibility’: Fabrizio Romano sends Newcastle United £30m transfer boost

- Fabrizio Romano sends Newcastle United transfer update
- Goncalo Ramos high on Newcastle’s list
- What Ramos could bring to Magpies

**Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on the future of Newcastle United target Gonçalo Ramos ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.**

The PSG forward has been on the Magpies’ radar for some time, with the club compiling a shortlist of strikers to strengthen their frontline.

Ramos is believed to have a chance of leaving this summer, with a number of clubs monitoring his situation. The Portuguese international has struggled for minutes this season, making just 12 starts across 27 appearances.

## **What Fabrizio Romano said about Newcastle United target**

[Romano](https://x.com/FabrizioRomano?lang=en)confirmed that the 24-year-old’s exit from PSG is a “serious possibility”, with clubs from across Europe vying for his signature.

Ramos has been in Newcastle’s sights for some time. The forward appears to be a strong fit for the club’s recruitment model, with his age profile, work rate, experience and high ceiling all standing out as attractive traits.

Despite the interest, a move is not expected to be straightforward. PSG have previously demanded significant fees for Ramos in negotiations, and that stance is unlikely to change this summer.

## **What Ramos would bring to Newcastle**

Ramos has seen his minutes consistently limited since joining PSG in 2023, most often being used as a rotational option.

Even so, the Portuguese forward boasts an impressive return of 45 goals and eight assists from 127 appearances, despite the lack of consistent starts.

Ramos is regarded by his current club as a top professional and an exceptionally hard worker. With[Eddie Howe](https://readnewcastle.com/tag/eddie-howe/)set to oversee a summer rebuild, those qualities could make him an appealing target. [Football Italia](https://football-italia.net/report-psg-striker-goncalo-ramos-offered-milan/) have put a £30 million price tag on his head.

As mentioned, the forward has a strong goalscoring record relative to his playing time. Newcastle have lacked a striker with a truly clinical edge this season, and Ramos could develop into that player if given regular opportunities.

He has often been described as a “complete forward”. While he shares similarities with Woltemade in his link-up play, he also possesses the mobility to make proactive runs beyond the defence—something that could make him a viable option should Alexander Isak depart.

Howe may also value his ability to sustain a high press and his tactical intelligence, allowing him to operate across multiple systems—both significant positives when considering a move for the Portuguese forward.
