# Newcastle add £20m star Andrey Santos to FFP-defying wish list

Newcastle United have a young Brazilian whizkid by the name of Andrey Santos on their transfer wish list.

That is according to journalist [Keith Downie](https://twitter.com/SkySports_Keith), who understands that Santos remains one of the targets in their “younger players” list which has been designed to “get around FFP rules.”

Speaking to [GIVEMESPORT](https://www.givemesport.com/88086679-newcastle-united-andrey-santos-transfer-rumours), Downie said: *“I think he’s one of a number of younger players they’re looking to bring in, to try and get around the FFP rules.*

*“We saw them bring in the guy from Australia, Garang Kuol, 18 years old, and I think this is another player on that kind of wish list.“*

**Santos eyed with FFP in mind**

As Downie rightly states, the signing of Santos would be one in alignment with their [recent coup of Garang Kuo](https://www.nufc.co.uk/news/latest-news/newcastle-united-finalise-deal-for-garang-kuol/)l – another high-potential youngster.

Santos is most certainly one for the future at just 18-years-old, but has proven himself as a reliable starter in Brazil’s second tier with Vasco da Gama.

In the Brazilian Serie B, the [£20million](https://www.90min.com/posts/newcastle-confident-over-andrey-santos-deal-vasco-da-gama-teammate-eguinaldo-on-radar) starlet made [33 appearances](https://www.fotmob.com/players/1372921/andrey-santos), scoring [eight goals](https://www.fotmob.com/players/1372921/andrey-santos) in his first full season of senior football, helping his side to [promotion](https://www.fotmob.com/teams/10276/table/vasco-da-gama) in the process.

He could bring an aspect of longevity to the Magpies’ midfield, though the side will need to battle for his signature due to the 18-year-old’s popularity around Europe.
